It doesn't seem like it should be December already.  Where did the year go?  We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are ready for the snow and cold weather that comes with winter.

November was a very busy time for us.  I  started some Christmas shopping, helped edit books at school, helped with COSI science day at school, was in charge of Churchill's day, had 2 brownie meetings, adult girl scout meetings and 3 more GS classes.   I collected, cut, and counted more Campbell's labels, took my friend to the emergency room, and even had lunch with some friends without the kids.   Dennis took a couple of days off and has almost finished up the arcade game that he has been building.  He also had to go out of town on business.   Dennis and I went to Lauren's and Lindsey's teacher's conferences and Jared's school's open house.   Lauren got her report card (4 A's and 1 B+) and Lindsey was doing well also (she doesn't get letter grades).  Lauren went on a brownies field trip to the fire department where we had a girl faint and then the department got a call and we had to hurry and leave.  The kids got to learn about and go in the trucks, see what the firemen look and sound like in their gear with oxygen on, see the paramedics in action, and ask a lot of questions.  The next meeting we talked more about first aid and safety.  The girls got to wrap each other up in all kinds of bandages, slings, air casts...  That was a lot of fun!

Both girls went to friends' birthday parties and  the school skating party.  We all went to a friend's house for a Nemo movie/pizza party.  We also had a movie night at our house and the kids' friends came over to watch Barbie Swan Lake.

Jared had an open house at his school where we had to go around to all of the rooms and find different things that he had made.  His teachers said he is very good at school and plays well with all of the kids and does a good job on all of his work.  We have started car pooling with his 2 girlfriends Kaylin and Sophia.  Lindsey and Jared are going to playgroup on Monday mornings in our subdivision.  They get to play with other kids and I get a chance to talk to some adults.

We had our first unscheduled day off of school already this year when a fog delay became a cancellation.  It was about 50 degrees, so we decided to go to the zoo.  We were almost the only ones there.  We got to talk to the caretakers and find out what they feed certain animals and one guy even brought the animals to the front of the cage so we could see them.  Then we went to Pizza Hut for lunch so the girls could redeem their free pizza coupons for reading so many books a month.

The girls had 2 days off school for teacher conferences.  They enjoyed being off of school when Jared had to go.  We went to the library one day, so they could pick out their own books.  Usually Jared & I go once a week and get about 20 books for them and Lauren will sit down and read every one of them in a day or two.  She is a great reader.  Lindsey is trying to learn to read also, and loves for us to hear her read.  Jared likes to get his books and ask what the words are, because that is what Linz does.  Lindsey & Jared try to read books to each other.  Lauren will read to all of them.

My parents, sister, and her two girls came to our house the weekend before Thanksgiving.  The kids had a great time playing together and because the weather was so nice, the got to play outside.  They played Dora the Explorer and followed their map from our house to another street in our addition to the big tall mountain (a big pile of dirt from where they dug a basement).  Along with Memaw and Pa they climbed the mountain.  Dennis and I even went out to dinner without the kids.

We decided to spend the Thanksgiving at home again this year.   We made dinner just for us and then started putting up all of our Christmas decorations.  It was a very nice relaxing day.
