Well once again we had a full month
of fun, activities and excitement. I keep thinking
things will settle down, but we just keep getting busier and busier.

Here are
a
few of
the
things we did
in
October !

Since I put
pictures throughout the page instead of just at the end, there is no sound
on this months page.

We had a lot of activities again last month. The girls went to the
school skating party and movie night. Lauren finished the first 1/2
of her soccer season. Her team lost their last game, but they
were 5 -1! They will have their last 6 games in the
spring.
We had a brownies ceremony and an outdoor adventure
field trip. Lauren and Dennis went to 2nd grade literacy night
at school and learned about bats. It was nice one day, so the
kids invited friends and we went to the park.
We got a surprise call from my sister who was at a convention in
northern Indiana. We met her half way and got to visit
with her for awhile.
I had a brownies leader meeting, CPR and first aid classes, PTA
activities, and worked at the book fair. I also volunteer at
the school publishing center and help kids edit their books
they want published. The kids and I collect the Campbell's
labels from every classrooms and we had over 2000 already!
Dennis got a new table saw and has already used it to build a
work bench and do some other projects.

Jared had his first
program at school. There are 20 kids in his class and they
sang about 8 songs. They sang one song where they picked a
child and asked them what they liked about Halloween and then they
sang it in the song. Almost all of the kids liked the
candy. Jared loves to sing and has been singing some of
the songs at home. His favorite is the scarecrow
song.
He has made some new friends and I think even has a crush on a
little girl in his class. He talks about her all of the time and has
a shy little smile on his face. |

We had a Halloween party for our subdivision. They had crafts,
games, goodie bags and lots of food. The girls loved the game
where you race to try to put out the jack - o -lantern's flame first
with a squirt gun.
Dennis and I even dressed up. I was a bag of trash and he
was the trash man. I won the adult dress up contest. The
kids had a great time and did not want to leave.

This year we just
carved one jack - o - lantern and just left the rest as pumpkins.
They all had fun scooping out the seeds.
At school Oct 31 was orange and black day and the kids both had
fall parties. I am the room mom for Lindsey's class and I also
stopped by Lauren's party for a few minutes. The kids had more
snacks, games, and treat bags. Lindsey is on the right side of
the picture in front with a white shirt on and Lauren is in the back
standing with a white shirt on. |

The
kids got to trick- or - treat at Dennis' work and in our addition.
Lauren and Lindsey were princesses Jasmine and Belle, and Jared was
Spiderman. He let me completely paint his face 4 times in one
week. On Halloween it was about 70 and cloudy. We were
all the way at the front of the subdivision and it started pouring down
rain. Dennis and Lauren took the umbrella and I ran with the kids in
the wagon. By
the time we got home it looked like we stood in the shower with all of our
clothes on, even our jeans and shoes were soaked all the way
through. We came in for awhile, put on new clothes and new costumes
and went back out, just to get rained on again. We each had an
umbrella and we finished a few more streets before going home. Even
thought we didn't go to all of the houses, we ended up with more than
enough candy
